When contamination in recycling bins began sending entire truckloads to the landfill, my team was tasked with creating an educational video to raise awareness. I led concept development, prop creation, and direction of the shoot.

We began by consulting with our Waste Division to identify the most common non-recyclable items mistakenly placed in bins: styrofoam, plastic bags, greasy pizza boxes, and air filters. From there, I developed a visual concept that was informative, entertaining, and easy to share.

With no budget, I leaned into the campy look and created the recycling monsters with actual trash. The final video simplified a complex issue and helped shift resident behavior through clear, visual storytelling—making it one of our most widely shared pieces of educational content to date.
